Ignacio Jofré

Photo 1-2

My name is Ignacio Jofré, and I've been a wedding photographer for over 10 years. During that time, I've photographed more than 250 weddings and trained with some of the world's most renowned wedding photographers.

Over the years, I've come to understand something: the photos that really matter aren't the posed ones. They're the ones that just happen. The laugh that slips out, the hand that squeezes a little tighter, the glance that no one else caught. My job isn't to ask you to look at the camera—it's to get close enough that you forget it's even there.

Being there is half the battle. The other half is finding the angle from which that moment becomes an image you’ve never seen before. That’s my goal: to find the spot where no one else is looking, the reflection, the gesture at the edge of the frame, the light that lasts three seconds. Photos that function as photographs, not just as memories.

This is the approach I share with Fearless Photographers, the international community of documentary wedding photographers of which I am a member, and where one of my images recently received a Fearless Award.

That approach has led me to photograph weddings both in and outside of Chile—the most recent one was just a short while ago in Australia. I've worked with couples from different cultures and in different languages, so whether you speak English or Spanish, it's no problem.

I know your wedding is one of the most important days of your life and that you've put time and care into every detail. That effort deserves more than just a simple record.

My commitment is to deliver a piece of work that you can look back on ten years from now and still discover new things: details you didn't remember, moments you didn't notice happening, images that surprise you even though you already know how the story ends.

“Photography is about aligning yourhead, youreye, andyourheart on the same axis.”
