General Considerations for Photo Shoots

Choosing the location is a key factor for any photo shoot. This step largely determines the style and atmosphere we want to achieve. Do you want something natural, full of greenery and soft colors? Or do you prefer something urban, with a modern, architectural aesthetic? The answers to these questions will guide us in making our decision.

  • Popular Options: Places like the beach, forests, or parks are classics for a reason: they always offer a wide variety of settings and natural light. In Concepción, for example, the estuary is the ideal setting. There, you can find everything: mountains, meadows, rocky outcrops, and a beautiful beach—all in one place.
  • Urban Settings: If you're looking for something more modern and sophisticated, places like the University of Concepción or the Biobío Theater are fantastic options. Both combine greenery with impressive architecture, making them ideal for photos full of contrast.

To help you decide, I recommend exploring Pinterest or photo galleries and looking for styles that inspire you. Sometimes, the best location is closer than you think: it could be a park you always visit, your home, or even a coffee shop you love.

The time of day matters, too:

  • Afternoon sessions, about two hours before sunset, are my favorites because the light is warm, soft, and flattering. Plus, it's a convenient time after work or class.
  • On the other hand, morning sessions have their own magic, too. Public spaces are usually empty, and the light is crisp and even.

Costumes

Clothing is another essential element in helping them feel comfortable and ensuring that the photos reflect their personality. There aren't any strict rules here, but there are a few tips that might help them:

  • Weekdays: I always recommend scheduling sessions between Monday and Friday, since locations tend to be less crowded. This also gives us more flexibility to move around and capture the best angles.
  • Weather: If you're hoping for photos on a sunny day but it ends up raining, don't worry. We can adapt and capture unique photos in the rain, or if you'd prefer, we can reschedule the session. I'm here to make sure you have the experience you want.
  • Accessibility: Some beautiful locations, such as certain beaches or lookout points, may require long or difficult hikes. If you’re planning a sunset photo session at a place like this, remember that the return trip will be at night along dark trails. In those cases, you can look for alternatives that are just as beautiful but more convenient.
